I'm still here...

Really. I've just been distracted.

Christmas went well, I think. I was very very happy to see Amanda. She had an overnight at DTW so I picked her up and brought her back home to spend Christmas evening with me and hubby's family. The next day, hubby and I went down to Alabama to see the most wonderful 4-year-old in the world, my niece!! We spent a week there and got to use my new digital camera that hubby got me for Christmas. =) It was super sweet!! It even takes video!! =)
We spent New Year's Eve playing Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture 2 DVD game and Scattergories with my brother, sister-in-law, and their neighbors while the kids tried to play in the kid's rooms. I say *try* because every 20 minutes they came back out with some new drama (Buddy hit me. Victoria bit me. yes....you read it right...bit) I should be so proud of my niece. But I guess that's what kids do at that age.

If my niece is going to hit and bite, I think I need to send her a hockey fight tape for her birthday next month. Although, now they got her a punching bag so she can redirect her aggression. She used it once or twice while we were there. She mostly played with it by tackling it. We gotta get her that tape!!!

But she will be fine for the new baby expected to arrive in March. Yes, MARCH!!! I'll give them 50 bucks if it's born on my birthday!! =) the 15th. The due date is March 21st, so Elaine, there's a chance a baby in my family could share your date!! the 22nd..=) Victoria is actually cheering for having a baby sister. She helped me pick out the colors for the baby blanket I crocheted while I was there. She wanted pinks and purples. The room is yellow. So, I showed her this skein of yarn that has many colors, red, purple, yellow, blue, and she liked it. So we made the blanket with white and multicolored yarns. I hope she's not too disappointed if it ends up being a boy.

We got home and picked up Ayana from the kennel. She was very happy to see us. Her first walk back home consisted of 9 number ones. Yes, 9. Apparently she thought that the neighborhood animals may have forgotten her existence and she wanted to remark her territory. She's an alpha dog, but I didn't think she was a boy dog inside a girl dog's body...sheesh!

We also discovered that being away from her for 2 nights in a row is not acceptable. We had hockey night Friday night. No damage found in the house when we got home. We had hockey night again Saturday. We came home to find the phone book chewed up and my little bedside garbage container brought out into the family room and emptied. Apparently, we pushed her patience with us too far by going out a second night in a row. God forbid we do that again!!! Oy!

And now it brings me to this morning. nothing exciting about this morning.

Congratulations on being an Aunt again! (and how neato would it be for the new one to be a 3/22 baby...awesome!) Great picture of Victoria - she's grown so much since your wedding!
