Feedback, please!

Got pulled into the boss's office yesterday for some issues. I won't discuss all of them, but one of them is that my talkative nature is disruptive to fellow co-workers (again) and they went to my boss to talk about it. Now, mind you, I don't know who is actually saying something to my boss, but I have a pretty good idea.

Anyways, I have been talked to before about this habit of mine, and I have be VERY conscious of my talking and have slowed down the talk. Could it be that the person is bothered by me talking to them at all, or could it be that they think of my light casual conversation (mind you that I have set a limit for myself to no longer than a few minutes) as being bothersome? They told my boss that it's disrupting their work.

I can think of 2 people since I had my talk yesterday that would've been engaged in work at times I've talked to them that did not come out and say they're busy. I can always count on one person telling me to leave her alone because she's busy, and I respect that. Because we always catch up later. And plus, she's not one to talk to the boss about me, she talks to me directly.

These 2 people are nice and polite and don't like to step on anybody's toes, but without knowing for sure who they are, it makes it harder. I mean, as I told one person that had an issue with me, CALL ME ON IT!!! If you're not comfortable telling me right then and there, email me a note saying, "Quit it! You're doing it again!" I gave her permission to do it, and I hope she does. I give credit to my husband for calling me out on interrupting him or correcting him when talking to others. Until it is called out to me, how do I know it's bothering them?

Help!!! Advice?

Should I go to boss with what I just posted and tell her that whomever the mystery person or people are, that they can feel comfortable talking to me directly? It bothers me that people don't feel like they can approach me with this. And what instances are they referring to that I've disrupted them? I have work too, do they honestly think I walk around talking to others instead of doing my work? Ugh...This bothers me so much. And the worse part is is that I am off for 2 weeks because of slow work load. (I call it mini layoff) But I don't have a problem emailing my boss or even going into work during those 2 weeks to talk to her. Help!!

Oh, wow. I haven't been called into the boss's office due to others comments, but those of the boss herself. I totally feel your pain.
