A/C has spoiled me...
Our a/c is getting looked at tomorrow. It is hot. I'm hot. It is stuffy AND hot in this house. Monday morning at 2am I woke up and felt VERY warm. I decided to turn on the air. We had the windows open overnight, but I guess the breeze and cool air decided to go someplace else. Anyways, I wake up, turn it on, nothing. I try it again, thinking, "Did I do this right?" Nothing. I risk a cranky husband and wake him up only 5 hours before he's supposed to get up to get ready for a temp assignment. He tries it too. Nothing. At first... Then he tries it again 5 minutes later. Success!!!! Cool. I can go back to sleep. But hey, while I'm up, why not check email?? Anyways, go to bed after email. Wake up to hear my hubby yell, "Crap!" (or something to that effect). The a/c had decided to turn itself off sometime between the hours of 2am and 7am. I could then feel it getting a little stuffy. It must have been off for a little while by that point. He tried turning it on again. Nothing. Waited a few more minutes, then nothing. Well, there ya go. A whole lotta nothing. So, tomorrow between the narrow window of 12pm to 6pm, we expect to see an a/c person who can rescue us from this discomfort.Coincidentally, my brother-in-law helped me with lawn work yesterday and today. Let me tell ya, it's not pleasant coming back into a house that has no a/c after sweating in the sun doing yard work. I know plenty of people do that, but frankly, I'm spoiled. I like a/c. I never want to have a place without it.
Yard work:
over 25 paper yard waste bags filled with branches, leaves and other misc. lawn stuff. I could not have done it without his brother's help. It's good to know 13 year-olds who don't mind working in the yard for cheap food and watching movies their parents won't let them!!! It only cost me Subway and Taco Bell value meals, and letting him watch the South Park movie, and Family Guy and Simpsons episodes. I asked my stepmother-in-law if I could reserve him for a few days next summer too!!! =) She was very happy. Doing yard work also let him express his destructive side in a constructive way. I let him throw branches and bang the branches agaist the driveway. I even let him saw down one of the trees. Hehehehehe...."let him" hehehehehehe I so wanted that tree down for 2 years!!!! I'm just lucky I found someone who had the energy to do it. =)
So, our yard looks SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. I have my patio back!! =) I put out the patio furniture and grill. Sure, summer is almost over, but it's nice to see it out for some summer days. =)
