Free stuff!!
I love free stuff. Libraries are the best because you can read the book without the need to buy it. Just read it, take it back when you're done. If you like it enough to have it on your shelf, then buy it. But you can read for free. This comes in handy for my children's literature class. So many books, and while I intend to build up my own children's library for my future classroom, I can't afford to do that now, so I borrow books and then keep a list of books I'll buy later. It's so convenient.
I have already compiled a long list of books I'm interested in reading. Hopefully I'll get around to checking them all out someday. My lit class is focused on diversity and multicultural literature for children. I read "Walk Two Moons" for our first book assignment, and it had me crying at the end. It is such a good book.

I do the same thing! Our library here has a feature where you can reserve books online (my tax dollars, finally at work!), so I go to Amazon and look for books I want but instead of buying them, I put them on my library list. I am so cheap about buying books. If I actually buy one, it's either something I've read to death or it's a book by an author I like. Or, it's an impulse full price buy and I end up hating the book. Eew.
